A complete review to TuneUp Utilities 2010 in Windows 7

One of us here at TechSansar happen to review TuneUp Utilities 2010 after writing a successful how to install guide on the same.

Visual screenshots are presented whenever possible.

TuneUp-Utilities-2010-Home-Screen 

The Perfect Home Screen follows four boxes (one box more than its successor). There are Maintain System, Increase performance, Fix problems and  Customize Windows boxes. You will be presented with errors and issues associated with each box.

Maintain System – maintains optimum system performance and permanently clean computer, includes

  • Optimize system startup and shutdown,
  • Defragment hard disks,
  • Remove broken shortcuts,
  • Defragment registry,
  • Clean registry

Increase performance – shows whether potential has been detected for increasing the performance of computer, recommendations for speeding Internet connections and uninstalling unused programs, you can create a profile for this function which includesLive-Optimization-tuneup

  • Configure Live Optimization
  • Free up disk space
  • Configure System Start
  • Display and uninstall programs

Fix problems – any problems harmful to system’s health are detected and displayed, checks the privacy and security settings and all problems are fixed by a single click, includes

  • Fix common problems
  • Restore deleted files
  • Check hard disks for errors
  • Manage running programs

Customize Windows – this section shows a selection of individual Windows elements and areas that can be personalized to suit your own interest and needs, includes

  • Change Windows appearance
  • Modify Windows settings

Turbo Mode: Another important thing of all new TuneUp Utilities is Turbo Mode which can be launched any time so as to run individual programs smoothly. It prevents unwanted background programs and services or scheduled background maintenance from occupying valuable resources.
