Are some of the needy tools from your Vista or 7 machine missing, then here is a trick to bring them back to working. This is called Windows Features – Turn Windows features on or off. Re-enabling Snipping tool – the great screenshot taking tool of Windows – can be done in Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 and Vista machines.

This article “How to enable snipping tool in Windows” has been revisited to reflect updated contents. However, the article contents is equally valid from Windows Vista to Windows 10. ~Editor

To turn a feature off in earlier versions of Windows, you had to uninstall it completely from your computer. In this version of Windows, the features remain stored on your hard disk so you can turn them back on if you want to. Turning off a feature does not uninstall the feature, and it does not reduce the amount of hard disk space used by Windows features.

First, open your Start Menu and type in programs and features.
Then choose “Turn Windows Features on or Off” from the side Menu.

You probably least expected this, but snipping tool falls under the Tablet PC Optional Components category. For owners of Windows 8, 8.1 and Windows 10, you might no see anything called Tablet PC components – usually it is not present there – optional components as already mentioned.
Tablet PC Input Panel, Windows Journal, Math Input Panel, and other handwriting recognition features are all included within Tablet PC Components.
