CAN: Computer Association of Nepal, 1992, is an autonomous, non-political, non-profitable organization which helps ameliorate computer and information technology in the country. Formed with the involvement of professionals, specialists, manufacturers, institutions and the related organizations, CAN develops strategies to meet the necessary requirements for the development of literacy and skills regarding computer science for the government and on an autonomous level. CAN Infotech and Soft tech annually organized by CAN are two most notable tech events in the country.

National Information Technology Center: NITC, 2002, is another Government of Nepal (GoN) initiative established in line with IT policy 2000 under Ministry of Science and Technology. NITC is Nepal Government’s central ISP. At the same time, it also works for developing and promoting Information Technology sector of the country. NITC is responsible for eGovernmence in Nepal by creating Government-to-Citizens (G2C), Government-to-BUsiness (G2B), and among various Government Organizations (G2G) in the country.

High Level Commission for Information Technology: HLCIT is one of the most anticipated ICT sector government undertaking organizations. It organizes tech events and houses many multinational business companies in IT Park, Banepa, Nepal. HLCIT is supposed to oversee the implementation of National IT Policy and Strategy, provide and support the same in organizations and academia throughout the country.

Information Technology Society Nepal: ITS-Nepal is a forum for all ICT related activities aiming at students, youth professionals and entrepreneurs in Nepal whose motto is “Youth for ICT Development”. Its objectives are extending ICT awareness to every level of personnel by organizing different level of programs on different base along with updated and suitable resources. The forum targets at the development of IT Sectors, by making active participation in all those IT events.

ICT Association of Nepal : This is an umbrella organization of ICT Product Importers, Distributors, Dealers and Professionals, bonded together for raising their voice and getting protection in compliance with the government acts. It is non-profit oriented non-governmental organization established in 2008 with the involvement of group of renowned ICT related business people of Nepal. This is a more business firm oriented organization.

DASS: Data Analysis and Software Solutions, a software company in Kathmandu, Nepal, 2003, is a home to a progressive offshore development center.
