IPv4, the most popular and used addressing system in the internetworking, has been exhausted and organizations can no longer avail for the free block of IPv4 addresses. In order to compensate this exhaustion of IP addresses, a new addressing mechanism called IPv6 has already been in use. While IPv6 is more advanced and sophisticated than the IPv4, there are many projects going on to encourage the use of IP version 6. The world is going to celebrate the IPv6 launch day in coming June 6.
It is time to get an IPv6 address for your website or a blog, don’t worry it doesn’t hurt to have a new addressing mechanism along with the existing IPv4 no matter how popular your site is. If you have a business inside Nepal, then you might want to get the country level domain (TLD) which is .np like .com.np. Or even if you are a Nepalese citizen, you are liable to get the free .com.np domain address which is at present, all handled by Mercantile – a private company. To regulate the internet workflow, traffic patterns, maintain national ethics & integrity, this country level domains (ccTLD) should have been handled by a Government Organization which is yet a misery (How to get a .np domain name).
The Government has just initiated to handle .gov.np domains, now onward all Government offices should register their .gov.np domain names from Gov-np Domain Registration office, National Information Technology Center (NITC) inside Singh Durbar in Kathmandu. Yes, time for the Government to undertake the Nepalese national domain has come (The rules for gov.np registration are thus different from those of other domain names.) Long ago, we were collecting free Wi-Fi internet accessing services in and around Kathmandu followed by recent list of entertainment and food stalls providing free (if not paid) Wi-Fi access in their premises (article here). And also in an another recent post, we did a coverage of Wireless Internet Service Providers (Wi-Fi dedicated ISPs) in Nepal. In this article, we try to cover or review Broadlink communication‘s WiFi services in questions and answers form.
No matter how our country runs in terms of physical infrastructure development with hours and hours of power cut (loadshedding), we still have a good number of telco companies and Internet Service Providers. Even though data (internet) customers in Nepal are not happy with the service providers in a way or the others, we have enough number of Wireless Internet Service Providers (WiFi ISPs) running in various cities in Nepal and airing tonnes of bandwidth every single second. Currently there are 45 registered ISPs in Nepal (excluding Network Service Providers). In this article, we review currently operating WiFi ISPs (both fixed and mobile WiFi providers, excluded are mobile operators) in Nepal.
