How to Configure DIGICOM ADSL Router for NTC ADSL

Digicom ADSL router is one of the most popular ADSL router among NTC ADSL Users
in Nepal. They have dedicated support service as well. Here is some tips to configure your DIGICOM ADSL Router
Nepal Telecom ADSL service.

If you incur any problem during set up, call Toll free phone number 16600166000
from 10 AM to 6 PM.

  1. Open Internet Explorer and then type 192.168.1.1 in the
    address bar.
  2. Put admin in both username & password.
  3. Setup page will open & click on Network & then click on
    WAN.
  4. Default Route Selection – Auto.
  5. Click on Select Current ATM VC Table.
  6. VPI-8
  7. VCI-81
  8. Encapsulation-LLC
  9. Channel Mode-PPPoE
  10. Enable NAPT
  11. Enable IGMP
  12. Type username & password (Provided by NTC).
  13. Type – Continuous
  14. Click on Modify.
  15. Again click on Select Current ATM VC Table.
  16. Click on Save in the bottom of the page
    (red color) if not Press on F11 & then click on Save.
  17. Now you are ready to browse the
    Internet.

How do I enable security key in my Digicom 104wt R adsl router? Simply, go to
Network options, on the left side you will see a vast number of choices. Go to
authentication and work for the one which you want (we suggest you WPA )

    but this did not work in ASUS netbook PC with USB cable.
    I mean it works fine with LAN cable but not with USB cable.

      Your service provider might not have the same configuration settings as we have illustrated here. Steps shown below are specific to operators, please consult them or let us know about your operator details.

      may the the netbook or pc doesn’t support the driver (software). you can write mail to support@hi-tech.com.np for Technical Support to send the driver through via mail.

      First click on Network below Network there is LAN WAN WLAN. click on Wlan and then click on Security from that you can change your wilress password

    I tried to connect through ADSL on my toshiba laptop…when i entered 192.168.1.1 in address bar…it asked for user name and password………..i entered ADMIN in both…………but after that the router home page doesnt open…….This process works very well in my desktop computer…but doesnt work in my laptop………….i tried in opera, mozzila, internet expolrer…but no result……..What should i do????

    i m sabin, i took adsl service by ntc 2 months before n router is digicom with 4lan and wlan. in the inital period my internet speed was satisfactory, after 20-22 daya its going slow and slow, after 40-50 days web page can’t open and now a days messenger also can’t open. the router status is good mead setting is in good condition but internet is very slow, does router have any defect or ntc internet speed is really down. may i know this ans on my email (hnbhusal@gmail.com)

      check your pc of virus or spyware. May be they are the problem.

        this sabin, that is not problem of virus, the device of ntc from where our adsl and telephone line will mix that got problem and now they fix the problem, after that my internet is ok.

      i m also having the same problem as sabin.. i also hv the same router n i hv been using it from 20..22 days n the net is getting slower n slower….my friends tplink’s speed is good but i dont know whats the problem with mine??? any solutions??

    I have purches 2 pcs of digicom(ddsl104wrt) adsl router. i have configure 1 adsl router as Nepal telecom provided the instruction but i want to configure another router by WiFi with the same internet which i have configured. have any body suggest me for this problem

      ok you can do that..its very simple..you can connect any internet cable to your second modem and configure it for wireless

      Dear Arun,  call Toll free phone number 16600166000
      from 10 AM to 6 PM.
      There is official Digicom support office in Kathmandu or you can also contact the shop where you purchased Digicom Router.

      One Tip: did you try to reset the Router to its original setting by pressing the reset button (at the back of it)

    I have got a digicom router but my internet speed is too slow.
    My router configuration is fine. But only the problem is in internet speed. Whereas my friend have a tp-link router and his internet speed is great.

      To do port forwarding in Digicom ADSL Router, browse the network tab and then look for connection settings. But why do you want to do port forwarding – NTC’s ADSL will show mad behavior on doing that (if that’s the case)?

      You should connect it, maybe you should try different browsers. This is means your connection with the ADSL modem is not constant.

    after performing all the steps as said my router is still not connected  to internet.i am sure that all steps are correct still the internet indicator is red.on troubleshooting it shows dns problem .i am using internet with my other tp link router.how to fix this problem with digicom router???

      We have tested, verified, and this method is working; as mentioned in the official Digicom router brochure; if you’re having difficulty please contact the toll free no. given in the post.

      * If internet indicator is STILL red (which) is one of the major problem with NTC, then you must wait for another 5 minute or so. NTC ADSL takes long time to connect and have frequent disconnects giving problem like yours; we have faced that; and sadly NTC guys do nothing about it.

    We all know NTC ADSL has problems but they tend to be lazy to fix, check ur router, user credentials, if not call NTC.

    hello there…  i have a Digicom router and the problem i’m having is, it’s settings keeps changing in every once in a month or a week, And i have to reconfigure all the settings of my router again. Is it just my router or other Digicom routers have the same problem too??? Is there any way to keep the setting permanently?? Please help people….
