The USB 4 is the latest (2019-2020) standard in the USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface. USB 4 Gen 2×1 was released on August 2019 with a speed of 10Gbits/s.

The USB 4 specification, on track to be published this year, supports 40 Gbit/s throughput, doubling the current maximum rate as defined by USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 and matching that of Thunderbolt 3.
