Is it better to get a car loan through a dealership or a bank?

    First, if you have never bought a car before, don’t try to do it by yourself. Either get a friend or parent who has purchased at least several cars to help guide you. Do some research, decide what kind of car you want. Another option is to hire a car broker who will track down the car you want and handle the transaction, will probably cost you $500 or so possibly offset by their ability to negotiate a better price. They will make sure your car is in good condition, the price you pay is at the low end and all paperwork is completed. There are really good car brokers and like anything else there are probably bad ones… get references if you go this route.
