Efforts On to Make Tele-Centers Effective

Chitwan, Feb 24: The District Post Office here has said it was planning to make effective the Tele-centers in the rural area.
The Tele-centers run by the Post Office are at different 10 places, including Bhandara, Khairahani, Muglin, Madi, Meghauli and Rampur.
Although established four years back, the Tele-centers are not able to compete with the private service providers.
However, these are very helpful especially for the service seekers at the VDCs.
Information Officer at the Office, Thaneshwor Sapkota, said the Tele-centers would be made more effective very soon.
The customers are not attracted towards the Tele-centers run by the Postal Office because of comparatively cheap and quick service at the private communication and photocopy centres.
In a Tele-center, the services as telephone, email, internet, photocopy and fax, and computer training are available.
Some reasons behind the slow service at the government Tele-centers are insufficient budget, acute load shedding, and very old computers.
Even the technical employees are taken in contract for the government run Tele-centers.
