The wait is over. Finally, Nepalese mobile users can use the Google’s mobile platform Android based Samsung Galaxy S cell phone (Android OS v2.1) .Virgin Mobile store in Pako, New Road has come up with the only Android phone in Nepal. Although, the early international release of this mobile phone was made in March 2010. (The price is NRs 57,000 as of Asar 1, June 15th for 16GB version.)

Android OS based Samsung’s Smart Phone Galaxy S
The most important feature that Android has is – the user can upgrade the OS as soon as it’s available for absolutely free of charge over the air (OTA) connection. Samsung Galaxy S has made a debut to Nepalese Android market with 1 GHz processor of ARM Cortex A8.
Other notable features of this Android v2.1 based Smart Phone Samsung Galaxy S are:
> 16 gigs of inbuilt storage and 32 gigs of external microSD card supportable
> 5 MP autofocus camera with Geo-tagging, face and smile detection for your easier social networking
> Screen that matters: touch sensitive 4 inch AMOLED capacitive with accelerometer sensor for User Interface (UI) auto-rotate
> RAM of 512 MB like most other Smart Phones but not much really a feature
> Connectivity options include 3G network that support NTC 3G services, WiFi, Bluetooth (NOT  v3 tho’)
> Assisted GPS and Digital Compass with Social Networking integration
The battery life of Samsung Galaxy S is like other smart phones Li-ion 1500 mAh which we could be gifted with some more withstanding power. Head to Virgin Mobile’s showroom in New Road or call ‘em at 01 4260173, 4218928;
