While Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) cards are getting more popular and replacing the Secure Digital (SD) memory cards, Toshiba has announced the world’s fastest SDHC memory cards. SDHC cards overcome the storage capacity limited to 4 GB in SD cards to as much as 32 GB till now.The SDHC and microSDHC UHS-I cards boast world’s fastest read and write speeds and are compliant with SD 3.0 and UHS 104 (SDHC), UHS50 (microSDHC) standards. Toshiba has announced that they’ve develop the world’s fastest SDHC memory cards.
The SDHC UHS-I cards give a maximum read/write speed of 95/80 megabytes per second whereas microSDHC UHS-I cards will give a maximum read/write speed of 40/20 megabytes per second.
The new cards are expected to be showcased at IFA in Germany. Companies like Panasonic, SanDisk and Toshiba are investing and engaged in R&D of SDHC cards while the usage of such non-volatile memory cards is extended to increasing number of devices each year like in digital cameras, camcorders, handheld PCs, netbook computers/notebooks, PDAs, media players, cell phones, GPS receivers, and video games; and lot others.
