The fourth edition of Info m Trade Fair organised by Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Association kicked off here today at BhrikutiMandap. The day started with a chopper dropping vouchers for many gift items at various places including fifty mobile phone sets. Fifty mobile sets have a been distributed as gifts, and many other items in order to promote not just the fair but technology as well,” said C N Upadhyay, the event organiser.
The five-day fair began with hoards of visitors mostly the younger generation while the main attraction of the fair as promised remained to be the Micro Laptop being sold for Rs 6,500, which would be the cheapest buy at the fair.
“We are catering to all pockets from laptops being sold at Rs 6,500 to ones that are for Rs 360,000 so we are well suited for any market, our main aim is to promote technology,” added Upadhyay.
The event was inaugurated by a Nepal-made Robot that has won many contests in South Asia as well as India “it is a symbolic representation of how even Nepalis have created something of technological value and having the robot to inaugurate the event symbolises the advancement in technology,”he said.
The fair has big names like Samsung, Toshiba, Acer, and Dell displaying their products along with many other brands. The fair -that has 110 stalls -is on at Bhrikuti Mandap until July 5 from 10 am to 6pm.
Based on their past experience, the organisers are expecting 300,000 visitors along with more than Rs 30 million in sales during the five day ICT fair.
