No doubt WordPress is the best blogging platform for most of the bloggers and blog sites today. However, there seems to be problems associated with WP mainly during updating or upgrading. Here are few problems encountered in WordPress when you try to update it or upgrade to another version.
An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.
Erroneous “An automated WordPress update has failed to complete” message
If you are presented with following message:
Database Upgrade Required
WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to upgrade your database to the newest version.
The upgrade process may take a little while, so please be patient.
Upgrade WordPress Database
Goto the UPDATE directory in UPLOADS folder of your WordPress installation and remove it.
We suggest you to rename that file (eg UPDATEback) for future reference.
If this solves you problem it’s okay, if not remove .maintenance file in the WordPress root directory. (This is a hidden file, so make to show hidden file/folders in your FTP client.)
