Nagarik App is out of beta, introduces Nagarik profile QR scanner & more features

As you already know that the Nepal government’s (GoN) official service delivery mobile app “Nagarik App” has been published with the theme of all government services in a single app, they have continued improvements and introduced new features periodically. On May 1st, Nagarik App is out of beta, so you can no longer see the beta sign in the app interface and play store listing. PM KP Oli launched Nagarik App on January 15th, 2021 in the beta version for testing after 3-years of thorough study and research on service delivery for Nepalese citizens as an e-governance service ; while the Play Store listing has been

available for Nagarik App since December 21st 2019.

The latest version of Nagarik App is 1.3.1 and introduced new features as

• Nagarik QR scanner features which is currently good for filling online bank account and in near future we are expecting QR code for profiles and scanner that would work for other government services as well
• Land ownership details (Malpot detail view) features is now available in the Nagarik app
• The issue of missing citizenship request and nagarikta correct request has been fixed

Complete features of Nagarik App

The Nagarik Application for Nepalese Citizen has been offering services gradually, during its launch, there were only few services inside the app, however, GoN has now been introducing new features and services every month or so. Recent features of the Nagarik App include:

1. Nagarik App QR Code Scan – newly introduced feature that currently lets Nepalese individual scan forms to create online bank accounts
2. Malpot – view your landowner information in Nepal by supplying 11-character landowner identification number (new feature, and functional only for limited municipalities for now)
3. Citizenship (Nagarikta for all Nepalese citizens)
4. Passport details for Nepalese individuals (also works for NRNs with valid and verified mobile phone number)
5. Voter card details as per Election Commission’s record (includes voter card functional QR Code)
6. Permanent Account Number (PAN) from Inland Revenue Department (IRD) – let’s every Nepalese individual create their own TAX ID with just a tap
7. Social Security Fund (SSF) – Samajik Surakshya  information
8. Citizens Investment Fund (Nagarik Lagani Kosh) information – NLK feature not fully functional as of writing this post
9. Employees Provident Fund (EPF) – Karmachari Sanchaya Kosh information – includes a feature to check fund contribution and provision of special loan from EPF
10. Nepal Police Clearance Report -apply for police clearance report from Nagarik App – report can be downloaded directly from the Nagarik App; no need to visit Police HQ for reports
11. Education Certificates – all Nepalese can view their schooling certificates (grade 10 – starting from new SLC/SEE of 2057 and grade 12 – HSEB grades and marks)
12. Health Insurance Board (HIB) – swasthya beema karyakram information by providing HIB insurance number
13. Hello Sarkar Complaints – you can make your own complaints and their execution or detail follow ups; or view public complaints from the app; this feature is directly adoption of Hello Sarkar inside the Nagarik App
