Finally the wait for Windows 7 is over. Today, (Oct 22, 2009) Microsoft is supposed to make an official announcement on this.
All the editions of Windows 7 are expected to be available for purchase, Windows 7 Starter edition might not be the one as it is meant for netbooks only.
Most of home and personal use of Windows users are expected to go with Windows 7 Professional rather than Ultimate edition like the trend that was with Windows Vista Home Premium.
