Following the great response to the office 2010 beta and the success of Windows 7, we predict Microsoft Office 2010 will be the biggest consumer release of office ever
Technology never stops evolving! And in tune with the changing trends and time, Microsoft Corp announced the worldwide availability of Microsoft office, visio and project 2010 in Nepal on June 15, 2010. Seven products, including Microsoft office outlook, OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, web apps, were demonstrated during the inauguration. Moreover, the new version of office is available in 10 languages, with plans to expand up to 94 languages.
The whole new version of MS 2010 has special features, such as power point not restricted to office premises and only requiring browser and internet. “My favorite is the OneNote, which is a digital version of spiral notebook, which makes it easier for the user to search for a particular note among the many he or she might have saved,” said Allen Bailochan Tuladhar, country manager of Microsoft MDP Nepal. He added that the voice recording is automatically transcribed in the digital canvas.
Furthermore, to facilitate easy use of the application, a game known as Ribbon hero has been installed. “In today’s fast paced world, people often do not have the time to learn how to use new products. This game makes it easier for them to know how to use the new version, and it’s more like learning while having fun,” said Tuladhar.
According to a press release issued here, Stephen Elop, president, Microsoft business division has said, “Working with major retail partners and PC makers, we’ve made dramatic changes in the way we deliver office 2010 to give consumers variety, making it easier than ever to unlock the power of office on new and existing PCs.” The product can also be purchased with the most popular desktops and laptops from leading PC makers including Acer Inc, Asus, Dell Inc, HP, Lenovo, Samsung and Sony Corp. Moreover, for the first time, people can purchase a Product Key Card at retail to activate Office 2010 preloaded on new PCs. For those who want to download Office 2010 direct from Office.com for an existing PC, the new ‘Click-to-Run’ technology will have them up and running within a matter of minutes.
