Joomla, the world’s Leading PHP-based Content Management System, is releasing soon in its newer version 1.6. The the next generation of Joomla is expected to contain many more core features of the most popular content management for websites. Joomla is one of the most used CMSs for building personal websites to complex organizational site structures to enterprise environment applications.
Newer Joomla is supposed to be more user friendly, success for community users, more compelling extensions and look. The most common thing with Joomla is its use of use and extensibility – making it open source. But, people are on the same hand criticizing that Joomla is turning Commercial and no more Open Source due to those developers who charge for their Joomla extensions.
Joomla.org, the official website of Joomla 1.6, has come up with three broad goals of Joomla 1.6 (download link here):
- implement an expanded access control system;
- implement a nested categories solution;
- and standardize the way extensions are built using the MVC framework.
