If you use Outlook email as a part of Microsoft 365 services, you might have noticed that on your desktop Outlook client there are multiple ways to install add-ins. However, gone are the days when Outlook add-ins had to be setup in a classic download and install fashion. Now that M365 inspires add-in providers to go with add-ins as a service modality, you can have a cloud installed add-in to your Outlook experience.
This means that add-ins installed from the cloud do synchronize across all the Outlook experiences – desktop app or the mobile app or the web app of the email client. Microsoft AppSources is the repository of several apps – mainly web apps as what Microsoft calls them – from where add-in services can be added to several Microsoft 365 office applications.
