Ncell has introduced newer schemes on its data tariff and other fun services to mark another change of its corporate theme. The Ncell double New Year bonanza has been released to observe new Nepali year 2067.
THT writes on its print – Keeping up to its promises and expectations of its subscribers- has come up with a smashing double New Year bonanza.
Now onwards, Ncell subscribers will be able to browse the internet via GPRS (Team TechSansar don’t know why Ncell calls its just GPRS while they have EDGE enabled data network) at incredibly low rates of Rs 6 per megabyte (which is still large compared to other networks – and in India.)
“This facility will be available in all Ncell subscriptions such as pre-paid, post-paid and corporate subscription,” said the company that has recently re-branded itself from Mero Mobile to Ncell.
“We have slashed down the rates so that our subscribers can enjoy world-class contents using the internet even as their mobile phones are anywhere,” according to the company.
Similarly, Ncell has launched mobile content portals for its subscribers who can now enjoy accessing new games, ring tones, wallpapers, themes, videos and mobile applications that match different handset types.
The content can be accessed via Ncell WAP or web portal @ http://wap.ncell.com.np .
“We are excited to be the first mobile operator in Nepal to offer a WAP portal for our subscribers. This is one of the first steps to confirm our new brand values which include being a pioneer in the Nepali mobile market,” Pasi Koistinen added.
Too much expensive compared to NTC GPRS. NTC’s GPRS tariff is rs. 2.50/MB but in NCELL it is rs. 6/MB. Let’s compare : rs 2.50 Vs rs. 6 for the same service. Is’t it too much.
Where is Nepal Telecom Authority, The regulatory body of telecom sector ??

Ncell new data rate is also very expensive as compared to other networks. Since rebranding the brand name Ncell is saying that they will provide international Quality service so, I want to ask to Ncell that this expensive data rate is a part of international quality service. Another fact, outside valley, Ncell have only GPRS enabled network in more places and the network quality is poor. In Far-West the network quality is worst.

I hear international brand give more facilites in low cost rather than other but i dont know what the ncell do by giving gprs on 6 per mb. which is Rs 3.50 expansive than nepaltelecom(ntc) mobile. Where ntc suscriber can use More than 1 mb dat by gprs In Compare to ncell rate

Though the cost is high, compare the connection quality of Ncell & NTC. Ncell is way ahead of NTC in this. When using NTC connection, its so slow that even a light weight program like Nimbuzz or MSN Messenger won’t or will take ages to sign-in. Whereas, in Ncell its so fast and you can also talk with Skype at incredibly low rate as Rs 0.5/minute with incredible voice quality & no call drops. Ncell even supports EDGE network and now 3G connection which is really fast. Don’t look just the rates. What is the use of cost when it takes 5 times more minutes just to do the same task? Damn NTC, just improve your quality. Ncell go ahead, you will win this race.

I hav been using both connectns of Ncell and NTC but I am not satisfied with these two bcuz connctn of ntc ie. data rate transfer is extremly slow whereas of ncell EDGE(2.5G) enabled good connection but quite expensive. If u love 2 download and hav dual sim supported mobile just try using both,at first browse the pages by ncell(faster) connctn and at download switch to ntc gprs connctn(cheaper).Actually I do that frepuently… hope a company come that brings faster and cheaper than thes 2 wasteful providers.
