VoLTE, in simple terms, refers to Voice over LTE aka 4G cellular network – meaning voice calls are served over a 4G LTE network rather than fallback to 2G or 3G connections. With VoLTE, you can have simultaneous usage of voice and cellular data – so no more tethered data connection drop while using the phone call.

So, why now VoLTE with Nepal Telcom?
This might be a good question when the world was using 4G and VoLTE many years ago, we are finally at least able to use at some places. Thanks to Nepal Telecom’s effort and NTA’s approval of the same.
To be able to make a VoLTE call, the device, its firmware, and the mobile telephone provider must all support the service in the area and be able to work together. This has just been possible with Nepal Telecom’s VoLTE capable 4G networks. Go to Settings and then to ‘SIM cards & mobile networks’. Check if there is any option as “VoLTE” or “Enhanced 4G”. If yes, then your phone supports VoLTE.

In some phones, you might see 4G network calling feature which is equivalent to 4G VoLTE voice calling.
