18th edition of CAN Infotech, Nepal’s only the information and technology exhibition, is going to be organized from Magh 12-17th this year. According to the CAN president, all stalls are already booked before 2 months of the event. About 90 companies are willing to display their products and services.
Like previous years, this time also CAN has said this event will be different. Enthusiasm from many multinational companies can be seen – but audience know the truth. However, onward this time CAN has said to separate branding and sales in different buildings giving event an international look says the CAN President Mr Suresh Kumar Karna.
The sales stalls will be in the outer part so that those who want to purchase IT products/services don’t need to cross all stalls before finding one for them. CAN has also said to organize discussions and interaction programs on IT and other related fields in specially organized programs.
Many audience from previous years used to complain CAN Infotech is nothing other than the place to sell pen drives, outdated laptops and desktops, promote the ISPs and brand names. They should do something to tell it an IT mela. It should not about buying or selling but about information technology deployment and services in context of Nepal. Selling an antivirus product or a cheap Chinese netbook in an event like this is not good, doesn’t give good sense of ICT to people.
What do you think? Are you going to CAN Infotech in Bhrikuti mandap this time?
