Hi there, today we have brought a simple video tutorial on a fix for “Sorry, another account from your organization is already signed in on this computer.”
If you are a Microsoft 365 organizational user or a free Microsoft account user and are logged into multiple Microsoft accounts to one of the Microsoft products installed in your Windows computer, you are likely to see this error.
The universal fix is to sign out of the first Microsoft account that signed in, then restart the PC. If this solution does not resolve the issue, you need to try the workaround demonstrated here.
Windows Registry for Profile Fixes
Open regedit (Registry Editor) and open the registry subkey in your Windows 10 PC.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity
Please note to backup your Windows Registry before making changes to the registry so as to avoid disaster.
Under the Identity menu, navigate to the Identities and delete the Microsoft accounts you want to. If you want, you can play around with those account attributes.
From the Identity subkey, delete all Profiles uniquely identified with IDs. You can also try by deleting selective profiles or accounts and check if that solves your problem, if not delete all.
Do not forget to log off or reboot your Windows 10 PC for the Windows Registry changes to be effective.
Windows Cached Credentials
One last thing is to get rid of credentials from the Windows 10 Credential Manager.
The Web Credentials option includes logon information for websites, connected applications specifically linked via the web.
The Windows Credentials option contains credentials for computers, connected applications, websites, and programs. This part is generally a long list of creds. Delete any accounts from here if you need to.
Confirm if multiple “Microsoft account” login works
Now open Microsoft Word or Excel and try to login with your Microsoft account. At this time, if you see that you have multiple accounts available, safely sign out from all accounts and only login with the ones you need now. Or re login to the accounts you need but one by one.
Let us know if this issue of “Sorry, another account from your organization is already signed in on this computer.” has been solved from your end. Let’s discuss if this tutorial works for you.
